About Alana

Alana Thompson is a senior journalism student at Loyola University New Orleans. She has a niche for sports reporting and serves as the sports editor of the award-winning school newspaper, The Maroon.

 

Thompson was a Super Bowl LIX Media Scholar and covered the events leading up to the game. This summer, she will intern at The Commercial Appeal in Memphis, Tenn, as part of the Sports Journalism Institute. 

She was also a stringer for WGNO's Friday Night Football and covered high school football games in the greater New Orleans area. Her experience in journalism also includes being a digital news intern at WGNO, where she wrote various stories ranging from local news to crime.
